Signum is introducing CyberKnife® technology in China, which is an entirely new approach to stereotactic radio-surgery. This technology has been widely used in the U.S., limited parts of Asia, and in Europe.  There are over 160 CyberKnife® centers worldwide, with only three centers in China.

 

CyberKnife® provides the radiation oncologist unparalleled flexibility in targeting tumours and lesions. Advanced image guidance technology tracks the patient and target position during treatment, ensuring accuracy without the use of an invasive stereotactic head frame. It has often been used to radio-surgically treat otherwise untreatable tumours or inoperable tumours. Moreover, the technology allows treatment of tumours outside the brain and spinal cord, which are unreachable by other stereotactic systems.

 

CyberKnife® technology is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Chinese FDA to treat tumours and lesions throughout the body. Signum intends to use the technology to treat tumours of the brain, lung, spine, pancreas, liver, prostate, head and neck.
